Many people ask me, "what kind of portraits do you take?" Well, I shoot engagements, maternity, and small family portraits, but I also enjoy shooting family functions or events. My approach to portraits is to capture your family's genuine expressions and candid moments, your family in their most natural sense.

I like to schedule sessions a couple of weeks in advance to allow us to share ideas and get a location set. I do have some ideas for locations (see below), but some of the locations may require a fee to use the grounds for photography. I like to chat over phone or email, whichever you are more comfortable doing. I am even open to Facetiming or using Google Hangouts!

Once at our location, I'll give some general posing instructions, and then it’s your time to shine. Your only worries are to have fun and enjoy being with your family! Here are the details:

A portrait session is $250 for 60-minutes.  Price Includes 20-25 full-resolution images. Images are downloadable for instant viewing. From there, you are free to take your images to your local printing service. If you prefer to order prints from a professional printing service, I can provide details and pricing.

I am frequently asked what clients should wear for their upcoming photo sessions, which can be rather hard to answer in words. I love when clients aren't too matchy-matchy…in other words, don't just all wear the same color shirts. Try coordinating neutrals with a couple of different vibrant pops of color; using accessories is a good way to do this. I have created a Pinterest board to give you some ideas with color, style, and outfits. I hope it helps. Oh, one more thing, keep this in mind...if you don't feel comfortable wearing it, you won't shoot well wearing it.

Portrait sessions are held at a location of your choice.  I like to shoot outdoors at a location that may be meaningful for you and your family. I have a few favorites that I can recommend if you're coming up short.  If travel is required beyond 25 miles, it will be an additional $1 per mile.

Lighting for portrait sessions is generally best around sunrise or sunset. It’s important to keep that in mind as we schedule your session.

Thanks for reading and I can't wait to create images that will help make your memories last forever!
